Our Story
MAË Body Jewelry
is a Canadian manufacturer, founded in 2023 by two passionate and skilled
goldsmiths, Maëva and Gabriel.
The idea for MAË began in 2022 after Maëva brought her sister to a local studio to get pierced with a threadless piece, she had handmade herself. Impressed
by the level of detail and finish, the piercer mentioned the growing need for more high-quality gold body jewelry suppliers, especially within Canada.
Inspired by both the needs of the piercing community and the technical challenge it represented, Maëva and Gabriel set out to build a company professional piercers could truly rely on.
Driven by their strong commitment to safety and durability, they reached out to the APP and key actors in the piercing community to better understand the standards and technical requirements specific to body jewelry. Over the following year, they developed a jewelry line designed to combine long-term wearability with the refined finish
of fine jewelry.
The positive response from reputable piercers quickly confirmed they were building something meaningful. Since then, MAË has expanded its workshop and team to better serve over 70 studios while continuing to build lasting relationships with studios across the industry.
We are proud to be the first Canadian manufacturer to be approved for Phase 2 of the Body Jewelry Verification Program of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).
This certification recognizes that our jewelry meets the industry’s highest standards for safety, ethics, and long-term wear. As part of our commitment to excellence, every batch of jewelry we cast undergoes rigorous XRF testing, with detailed records maintained in compliance with the APP requirements.
Our Gold
At MAË, ensuring quality and ethical sourcing of our raw materials is a core commitment. We work exclusively with 14k gold, meticulously testing each batch with a precise XRF machine, to ensure it meets the standards of karat and alloys. Our white gold is palladium-based, providing a hypoallergenic option that aligns with our commitment to safe biocompatible materials. Our workshop works solely with Cadmium Free gold solder.
We also partner exclusively with refiners who offer recycled and conflict-free gold, upholding responsible practices in every piece we create. This dedication to excellence ensures that our jewelry is not only beautiful but crafted beautifully, with care and integrity.
Our Gemstones
Gemstones are often the focal point of jewelry; this is why carefully choosing them is essential. All our CZ models are adorned with premium quality cubic zirconia (AAAAA CZ) that will showcase the best brilliance and offer added durability. The diamonds we use are sourced exclusively from legitimate suppliers who guarantee they are conflict-free, in full compliance with The United Nations Resolutions. Diamonds are tested for synthetics and selected for their good color and clarity.
In addition to diamonds and CZ, we offer a selection of stunning natural gemstones, including rainbow moonstone, amethyst, onyx, opal, turquoise, lapis, garnet, chrysoprase, topaz, sapphire and more. Each stone is carefully hand-set in-house by our skilled stone setter, trained in Antwerp, ensuring secure placement and optimized brilliance of the jewelry.

Our jewelry has been recognized by many professional piercers for its finish, durability, and impressive details. MAË’s founders are professional goldsmiths with many years of experience in high-end jewelry manufacturing. With their extensive background, they developed a unique manufacturing process, making MAË the only manufacturer to offer solid gold body jewelry with embedded titanium pins. This fusion creates extremely durable pins that won’t break or weaken when bent, unlike traditional gold or stainless-steel pins.
